Description

The dream of a truly bezel-less iPhone remains elusive, despite the shrinking bezels on smartphones over the years. Apple has reportedly been collaborating with Samsung Display and LG Display for several years to develop a zero-bezel iPhone screen, but the technology still isn’t ready for mass production.
Initially, Apple aimed to launch the bezel-less iPhone by 2025 or 2026. However, a new report from Korea suggests that even a 2026 release is unlikely due to technological limitations.

Apple’s vision involves maintaining a flat display that seamlessly curves into the sides—a “quad micro-curve” design. This approach, gaining traction among Chinese smartphone makers, is compared to the design of the Apple Watch’s screen. However, Apple is determined to avoid screen distortion at the edges, which poses a significant challenge.
With such a specific design in mind, the company faces production hurdles that prevent immediate implementation. As a result, the much-anticipated zero-bezel iPhone might not arrive until at least 2027.
